Penguins AGM – New Date Tuesday 17th Nov at 7pm by Zoom call

Due to the current situation regarding Covid-19, the Club’s AGM will be held on Tuesday 17th November 2020 at 7pm via an online platform which is Zoom. If you disapprove of this arrangement please email the Club Secretary on secretary@marlboroughpenguins.com no later than the 27th October 2020.

The AGM usually lasts for approximately 1 hour. The purpose of the AGM is to:

  • Receive the Chairman’s report of the activities of the Club during the previous year
  • Receive and consider the Treasurer’s report as to the financial position of the Club
  • Remove and elect the independent examiner or confirm that he/she remain in office
  • Elect the Executive Officers and other members of the Committee

Nominations for the Executive Officers and other members of the Committee are to made in accordance with the following process:

  • Anyone who is a member of Marlborough Penguins ASC may make a nomination or second a nomination, for any of the Committee posts detailed below. Committee meetings are held once every two months, and members contribute to the various aspects of running a successful club. If you feel that you could support the club by contributing your time, please put your nomination forward.
  • Nominations must be made by an individual and be formally seconded by another individual.
  • Nominations must be submitted on the official form below (if possible) and emailed, posted or handed to the Club Secretary, Karen Heal (secretary@marlboroughpenguins.com) by midnight 10th Nov 2020.
  • Voting for the election of Executive Officers and other members of the Committee will be held at the Club’s Annual General Meeting.

Any Member is entitled to put forward any proposal for consideration at the AGM (e.g. Alteration of the Rules and/or other Resolutions), provided the proposal in writing shall have been handed, posted or emailed to the Secretary of the Club so as to be received by her no later than the 27th October 2020. All Members and Parents of Members are welcome to attend. Only paid up Members who have reached their 16th birthday shall be entitled to be heard and to vote on all matters.
