Jan Heppenstall – Club President & Life Member

Level 2 Teacher, Honorary Life Member

Jan has been a member of Penguins for over 30 years. She joined initially as a supportive parent for her children Simon and Claire. She served on the Committee for over 10 years holding a number of senior posts including Club Secretary and Welfare Officer. She also qualified as a Swimming Teacher in 1988 and is now arguably one of the Club’s most experienced and respected Teachers. Although her children have long since stopped swimming regularly with the Club, Jan has continued to teach and coach three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. In 2012 she was awarded the Merit Cup for services to the Club “beyond the call of duty” and in 2017 she was given the honorary role of Club President.
