Learn to Swim
Our Learn to Swim program is based upon the ASA’s National Teaching Plan for Swimming. All our lessons are developed to make learning to swim enjoyable and fun. Learners will be taught to swim all 4 strokes as well as a range of important fundamental swimming techniques including basic movement literacy.
We have 10 Groups of widths classes with published movement criteria, so children and parents are able to monitor progress. Further details about each class, the progression pathway and movement criteria can be found by clicking on the attached documents. Our Learn to Swim continues through to swimming lengths where swimmers build their stamina, and learn all about how to swim in a lane environment. Information about moving from widths to lengths sessions can be found here.
For some swimmers and depending on ability, swimming competitively may also be introduced either as an individual (e.g. Club Championships) and/or as part of the Penguins swimming team.
